משנה: מִי שֶׁיֵּשׁ לוֹ אָח מִכָּל מָקוֹם זוֹקֵק אֶת אֵשֶׁת אָחִיו לַיִיבּוּם וְאָחִיו לוֹ לְכָל דָּבָר חוּץ מִמִּי שֶׁיֵּשׁ לוֹ מִן הַשִּׁפְחָה וּמִן הַנָּכְרִית.

MISHNAH: Any [male] who has a brother anywhere makes his brother’s wife a candidate for levirate and he is his brother in every respect, except if he were from a slave woman or a non-Jew.
