Jerusalem Talmud Nazir 6.8

משנה: רַבָּן שִׁמְעוֹן בֶּן גַּמְלִיאֵל אוֹמֵר הֵבִיא שָׁלֹשׁ בְּהֵמוֹת וְלֹא פֵרֵשׁ הָרְאוּיָה לַחַטָּאת תִּיקָּרֵב חַטָּאת. לָעוֹלָה תִּיקָּרֵב עוֹלָה. לַשְּׁלָמִים תִּיקָּרֵב שְׁלָמִים. הָיָה נוֹטֵל שְׂעַר רֹאשׁ נִזְרוֹ וּמְשַׁלֵּחַ תַּחַת הַדּוּד וְאִם גִּילַּח בַּמְּדִינָה הָיָה מְשַׁלֵּחַ תַּחַת הַדּוּד. בַּמֶּה דְבָרִים אֲמוּרִים בְּתִגְלַחַת הַטַּהֲרָה אֲבָל בְּתִגְלַחַת הַטּוּמְאָה לֹא הָיָה מְשַׁלֵּחַ תַּחַת הַדּוּד. רִבִּי מֵאִיר אוֹמֵר. הַכֹּל מְשַׁלְּחִין תַּחַת הַדּוּד חוּץ מִן הַטָּמֵא שֶׁבַּמְּדִינָה בִּלְבַד.

MISHNAH: Rabban Simeon ben Gamliel says, if he brought three animals but did not specify, the one proper for the purification offering shall be brought as purification offering, for the elevation offering shall be brought as elevation offering, for the well-being offering shall be brought as well-being offering. He took the hair shorn from his nazir head and sent it under the cooking pot; even if he shaved in the countryside he sent it under the cooking pot. When has this been said? If he shaved in purity. But if he shaved in impurity, he does not send it under the cooking pot. Rebbi Meïr says, all send under the cooking pot except the impure in the countryside.

הלכה: הֲווֹן בָּעֵיי מֵימַר. בְּשֶׁלֹּא פֵּירֵשׁ. הָא בְּתוֹךְ בֵּיתוֹ פֵּירֵשׁ. אָמְרִין. אֲפִילוּ בְּתוֹךְ בֵּיתוֹ פֵּירֵשׁ לֹא. לָמָּה. בְּהֵמָה עָלֶיהָ הֲלָכוֹת סְתוּמוֹת כַּתְּחִילָּה.

HALAKHAH: They wanted to say, if he did not specify, but in his house he did specify. They said, even in his house he need not specify. Why? The animal which at the start has the rules of the indeterminate.

רִבִּי יוֹסֵי בֵּירִבִּי בּוּן בְּשֵׁם רַב. טוֹבְלוֹ בָּרוֹטֶב. מַה טַעֲמָא. וְנָתַן עַל הָאֵשׁ. אַף הַזֶּבַח יְהֵא בָאֵשׁ.

Rebbi Yose ben Rebbi Abun in the name of Rav: He puts it into the sauce. What is the reason? “He puts it into the fire,” the sacrifice also into the fire.

תַּנֵּי. הַכֹּל מְשַׁלְּחִין תַּחַת הַדּוּד חוּץ מִן הַטָּמֵא שֶׁבַּגְּבוּלִין. הַטָּהוֹר שֶׁבַּמִּקְדָּשׁ תַּחַת הַדּוּד שֶׁלְּאָשָׁם מֵבִיא. דִּבְרֵי רִבִּי מֵאִיר. רִבִּי יוּדָה אוֹמֵר. הַטָּהוֹר כָּךְ וְכָךְ מֵבִיא הַטָּמֵא כָּךְ וְכָךְ אֵינוֹ מֵבִיא. וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים. הַטָּמֵא שֶׁבַּמִּקְדָּשׁ וְהַטָּהוֹר שֶׁבַּגְּבוּלִין אֵינוֹ מֵבִיא. אֵין לָךְ מְשַׁלֵּחַ תַּחַת הַדּוּד אֶלָּא הַמְגַלֵּחַ בְּטַהֲרָה. פֶּתַח אוֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. רִבִּי מֵאִיר אוֹמֵר. עַד שֶׁיְּהֵא רָאוּי וְסָמוּךְ. וְרַבָּנִין אָמְרִין. רָאוּי אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁאֵינוֹ סָמוּךְ. סָמוּךְ אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁאֵינוֹ רָאוּי.

It was stated: “All send under the cooking pot except the impure in the countryside. The pure in the Temple brings it under the cooking-pot of the reparation sacrifice, the words of Rebbi Meïr. Rebbi Jehudah says, the pure brings in any case, the impure does not bring in any case. But the Sages say, neither the impure in the Temple nor the pure in the countryside bring. Nobody sends under the cooking-pot except the one who shaves in purity.” “Outside the door of the Tent of Meeting.” Rebbi Meïr says, only if he is proper and near; but the rabbis say, proper even if not near, near even if not proper.
