Follow the sources.
Our approach to clear writing, honest evidence and corrections.
Who writes these articles?
Holymap is responsible for this collection. The initial articles were drafted with AI and checked by separate AI fact-checking agents against the cited sources. They have not received human specialist review. A completed source check means a second agent compared the final wording with the evidence; it is not a guarantee that every error has been found.
Evidence beside the claim
Numbered references connect factual passages to their sources. We use scholarly reference works, museums, research institutions, original texts and religious communities’ own explanations. A community source is especially useful for its own teachings; it is not automatically a neutral account of every other tradition.
Reading exercises and practical study suggestions are our editorial guidance. A citation to a text does not turn our suggested reading order into a religious requirement.
Uncertainty belongs in the answer
We distinguish religious beliefs from independently established historical claims, and name the school or community when a teaching is not universal. Population estimates include their observation period and source. When reliable accounts disagree, we qualify the claim or leave out the disputed detail. Several pages from one research organization are not independent corroboration.
Artwork is illustration
Blog hero images are AI-generated artistic illustrations. They are not photographs, evidence of historical events, reconstructions of documented buildings or reproductions of actual manuscripts. Captions state that limitation. Imagined settings should not be used to infer real geography or ritual practice.
Dates and corrections
Each article shows its publication date and the date of its source check. A substantive correction changes its modification date; a fresh page request does not. Sources can change after a check. If you find an error, email support@holymap.app with the article, passage and supporting evidence.
Short guides, further reading
These articles are introductions. Their source lists and links into the atlas, timeline and library offer routes into deeper study. Search interest helps us identify useful questions, but it does not determine whether a factual claim is true or justify publishing unsupported content.
